Reality Atlas was created by Amit. His expertise is in physics and astrophysics, especially cosmology—the study of the universe as a whole. He followed that interest through master’s and doctoral work in physics and later through research at Harvard, Princeton, and UC San Diego. His research has included studying the cosmic microwave background—the faint afterglow of the early universe—and looking for subtle departures from its expected patterns that could reveal what happened in the universe’s earliest moments. He has also contributed to NASA experiments studying this ancient light.

Amit keeps returning to questions about the universe, the nature of reality, intelligence, and what it means to be human. Reality Atlas grew from that curiosity and is intended for anyone who wants to explore these ideas, whether or not they have a background in science. He runs regularly along the coast in San Diego, lifts weights, hikes, meditates, takes the occasional road trip, and enjoys good coffee.
